Pioneers in relationship science, Drs. John and Julie Gottman
have revolutionized our understanding of marriage, relationships,
and couples therapy. They draw upon four decades of breakthrough
research with more than 3,000 couples. The Sound Relationship
House Theory is the foundation of the Gottman Method, I use this
practical approach to help couples break through barriers to
achieve greater understanding, connection, and intimacy in their
relationships.
After an in-depth assessment of your relationship a custom plan
is created to help you:
- Maintain awareness of your partner's world.
- Make deposits into the Emotional Bank Account
- Accept bids for emotional connection
- Accept influence from your partner: be open to compromise
- Discuss your problems & learn how to listen
- Practice self-soothing: keep yourself calm
- Find ways to support each other's life goals and dreams
- Build a shared sense of purpose.
You will get no greater understanding and insight into your
relationship in such a short amount of time.

This therapy is most effective with a clear picture of
the relationship. This is done quickly in the first few sessions
so that treatment can be targeted instead of spending weeks
trying to uncover the "real issues." This is not a quick fix but
many couples report to feeling and doing better within the 1st
month. This is an in depth learning and experiential process.
Although every couple comes with a different set of urgent and
unique issues, creating momentum and focus is important to your
success. Critical and time sensitive matters may benefit from
multiple or extended sessions, whereas other couples find hope
and relief in weekly attendance, then reducing therapy
gradually.
